Night-Museum

When it comes to lighting, “static” lighting—where lights are simply “on” or “off”—is the norm, but at BRIGHT-CHIPS, we’ve focused on “dynamic” lighting. The ever-changing interplay of light is created by our unique CALC technology program. You can enjoy the beauty of your favorite art pieces as they transform before your eyes. Chaos theory is incorporated into the control program, making the expressions created by the light truly one-of-a-kind. We’ve even managed to capture the “transience” of passing time within the world inside the case.

Please enjoy the ultimate experience in your very own private art museum—the Night Museum (Museum of Transience)—a space you can call your own during your personal time.

“Utsuroi” (formerly known as Yuragi)

This is the product series name for a line of art display cases featuring computer-controlled lighting. “Utsuroi” uses dynamic lighting to express “the passage of time” inside the case. This allows you to appreciate your collection in a different light every time you look at it. You’re free to store whatever you like—art, of course, but also handmade crafts, plastic models, and other cherished items that hold special meaning for you. The lighting programs create a different atmosphere every time. It fits seamlessly into any space—whether a study, a traditional Japanese-style room, or a Western-style room. The place you choose becomes your very own personal art museum.

Premium glass case

In contrast to the illuminated “Utsuroi” model, we have also designed a standard glass display case without lighting. It features a frameless, sleek design with a modern aesthetic that complements contemporary homes. We’ve incorporated black half-mirrored glass on the back panel so that the items on display can be viewed from behind as well. High-transmittance glass is used as standard, ensuring that the display specifications minimize any impact on the colors of the displayed items. Of course, you can also choose “invisible glass” with no surface reflections. We also offer a standard glass version as a more affordable option.

We can also accommodate machining at special angles. The photo shows a glass case machined into a regular dodecahedron (made to order).

“Invisible Glass” (trademark of Nippon Electric Glass Co., Ltd.)

Ordinary glass has a surface reflectivity of about 6 to 10 percent. Surface reflections can be distracting when viewing the piece. This is especially true for illuminated display cases; to fully appreciate the light coming from within, the absence of surface reflections results in a sharper and more beautiful view. To deliver the very best product, we’ve made this “invisible glass”—which boasts the world’s highest quality—available as an option. It utilizes cutting-edge Japanese technology that reduces the glass’s surface reflectivity to less than 0.1%. Additionally, the base glass has been designed with high transmittance to minimize the influence of the displayed object’s color. Please enjoy a beautiful world unlike anything you’ve ever seen before—a world that feels like it’s in a different dimension.
